The Price of Wisdom Is far above Rubies

Wisdom is more valuable than gold and crystal.
    It cannot be purchased with jewels mounted in fine gold.
Coral and jasper are worthless in trying to get it.
    The price of wisdom is far above rubies.
Precious peridot from Ethiopia cannot be exchanged for it.
    It’s worth more than the purest gold. — Job 28:17-19

황금이나 유리라도 비교할 수 없고 정금 장식으로도 바꿀 수 없으며
산호나 수정으로도 말할 수 없나니 지혜의 값은 홍보석보다 귀하구나
구스의 황옥으로도 비교할 수 없고 순금으로도 그 값을 측량하지못하리니 — 욥기 28:17-19

Ni el oro ni el cristal se comparan con ella,
    ni se cambia por áureas joyas.
¡Para qué mencionar el coral y el jaspe!
    ¡La sabiduría vale más que los rubíes!
El topacio de Cus no se le iguala,
    ni es posible comprarla con oro puro. — Job 28:17-19

If You Need Wisdom, Ask Our Generous God

 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.  But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.  Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. — James 1:5-8

Si a alguno de ustedes le falta sabiduría, pídasela a Dios, y él se la dará, pues Dios da a todos generosamente sin menospreciar a nadie.  Pero que pida con fe, sin dudar, porque quien duda es como las olas del mar, agitadas y llevadas de un lado a otro por el viento.  Quien es así no piense que va a recibir cosa alguna del Señor;  es indeciso e inconstante en todo lo que hace. — Santiago 1:5-8

The Wisdom from above Is First of All Pure

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.  And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. — James 3:17-18

Get Wisdom; Develop Good Judgment

My father taught me,
“Take my words to heart.
    Follow my commands, and you will live.
Get wisdom; develop good judgment.
    Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.
⁶ Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
    Love her, and she will guard you. — Proverbs 4:4-6

I Will Destroy the Wisdom of the Wise

 As the Scriptures say,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
    and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. — 1 Corinthians 1:19-20

기록된바 내가 지혜 있는 자들의 지혜를 멸하고 총명한 자들의 총명을 폐하리라 하였으니

Wisdom Is a Tree of Life

Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
    happy are those who hold her tightly.

By wisdom the Lord founded the earth;
    by understanding he created the heavens. — Proverbs 3:18-19

지혜는 그 얻은 자에게 생명나무라 지혜를 가진 자는 복되도다 여호와께서는 지혜로 땅을 세우셨으며 명철로 하늘을 굳게 펴셨고 — 잠언 3:18-19

Only Wisdom Can Save Your Life

Wisdom is even better when you have money.
    Both are a benefit as you go through life.
Wisdom and money can get you almost anything,
    but only wisdom can save your life. — Ecclesiastes 7:11-12

지혜는 유업같이 아름답고 햇빛을 보는 자에게 유익하도다 지혜도 보호하는 것이 되고 돈도 보호하는 것이 되나 지식이 더욱 아름다움은 지혜는 지혜 얻은 자의 생명을 보존함이니라 — 전도서 7:11-12

Buena es la sabiduría sumada a la heredad, y provechosa para los que viven.  Puedes ponerte a la sombra de la sabiduría o a la sombra del dinero, pero la sabiduría tiene la ventaja de dar vida a quien la posee. — Eclesiastes 7:11-12

My Words Are Plain to Anyone with Understanding

Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you.
    Everything I say is right,
for I speak the truth
    and detest every kind of deception.
My advice is wholesome.
    There is nothing devious or crooked in it.
My words are plain to anyone with understanding,
    clear to those with knowledge.
Choose my instruction rather than silver,
    and knowledge rather than pure gold.
For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies.
    Nothing you desire can compare with it. — Proverbs 8:6-11

The LORD Gives Wisdom

For the Lord grants wisdom!
    From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
    He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
He guards the paths of the just
    and protects those who are faithful to him. — Proverbs 2:6-8

대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며 그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비하시며 행실이 온전한 자에게 방패가 되시나니

The Fear of the Lord Is True Wisdom

And this is what he says to all humanity:
‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom;
    to forsake evil is real understanding.’” — Job 28:28
