By Faith Abraham Offered Isaac as a Sacrifice

It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, even though God had told him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.” Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead. — Hebrews 11:17-19

 아브라함은 시험을 받을 때에 믿음으로 이삭을 드렸으니 저는 약속을 받은 자로되 그 독생자를 드렸느니라 저에게 이미 말씀하시기를 네 자손이라 칭할 자는 이삭으로 말미암으리라 하셨으니 저가 하나님이 능히 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리실 줄로 생각한지라 비유컨대 죽은 자 가운데서 도로 받은 것이니라  — 히브리서 11:17-19

Por la fe Abraham, que había recibido las promesas, fue puesto a prueba y ofreció a Isaac, su hijo único,  a pesar de que Dios le había dicho: «Tu descendencia se establecerá por medio de Isaac». Consideraba Abraham que Dios tiene poder hasta para resucitar a los muertos, y así, en sentido figurado, recobró a Isaac de entre los muertos. — Hebreos 11:17-19

Not by Faith Alone.

Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. — James 2:21-24

우리 조상 아브라함이 그 아들 이삭을 제단에 드릴 때에 행함으로 의롭다 하심을 받은 것이 아니냐 네가 보거니와 믿음이 그의 행함과 함께 일하고 행함으로 믿음이 온전케 되었느니라 이에 경에 이른바 이브라함이 하나님을 믿으니 이것을 의로 여기셨다는 말씀이 응하였고 그는 하나님의 벗이라 칭함을 받았나니 이로 보건대 사람이 행함으로 의롭다 하심을 받고 믿음으로만 아니니라 — 야고보서 2:21-24

¿No fue declarado justo nuestro padre Abraham por lo que hizo cuando ofreció sobre el altar a su hijo Isaac? Ya lo ves: Su fe y sus obras actuaban conjuntamente, y su fe llegó a la perfección por las obras que hizo. Así se cumplió la Escritura que dice: «Le creyó Abraham a Dios, y esto se le tomó en cuenta como justicia», y fue llamado amigo de Dios. Como pueden ver, a una persona se la declara justa por las obras, y no solo por la fe. — Santiago 2:21-24

It is Based on Faith

Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. — Romans 3:27-28

그런즉 자랑할 데가 어디뇨 있을 수가 없느니라 무슨 법으로냐 행위로냐 아니라 오직 믿음의 법으로니라 그러므로 사람이 의롭다 하심을 얻는 것은 율법의 행위에 있지 않고 믿음으로 되는줄 우리가 인정하노라 — 로마서 3:27-28

¿Dónde, pues, está la jactancia? Queda excluida. ¿Por cuál principio? ¿Por el de la observancia de la ley? No, sino por el de la fe. Porque sostenemos que todos somos justificados por la fe, y no por las obras que la ley exige. — Romanos 3:27-28

All Who Put Their Faith in Christ

So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith. — Galatians 3:9

Así que los que viven por la fe son bendecidos junto con Abraham, el hombre de fe. — Galatas 3:9

Faith without Good Deeds

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? — James 2:14-16

내 형제들아 만일 사람이 믿음이 있노라 하고 행함이 없으면 무슨 이익이 있으리요 그 믿음이 능히 자기를 구원하겠느냐 만일 형제나 자매가 헐벗고 일용할 양식이 없는데 “너희 중에 누구든지 그에게 이르되 평안히 가라, 더웁게 하라, 배 부르게 하라 하며 그 몸에 쓸것을 주지 아니하면 무슨 이익이 있으리요” — 야고보서 2:14-16

Hermanos míos, ¿de qué le sirve a uno alegar que tiene fe, si no tiene obras? ¿Acaso podrá salvarlo esa fe? Supongamos que un hermano o una hermana no tiene con qué vestirse y carece del alimento diario, y uno de ustedes le dice: «Que le vaya bien; abríguese y coma hasta saciarse», pero no le da lo necesario para el cuerpo. ¿De qué servirá eso? — Santiago 2:14-16

Look At the Proud!

“Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. — Habakkuk 2:4

보라 그의 마음은 교만하며 그의 속에서 정직하지 못하니라 그러나 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 — 하박국 2:4

»El insolente no tiene el alma recta,
pero el justo vivirá por su fe. — Habacuc 2:4

Faith in Christ

Through Christ You Have Come to Trust in God

Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory. — 1 Peter 1:21

너희는 저를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리시고 영광을 주신 하나님을 그리스도로 말미암아 믿는 자니 너희 믿음과 소망이 하나님께 있게 하셨느니라 — 베드로전서 1:21

Por medio de él ustedes creen en Dios, que lo resucitó y glorificó, de modo que su fe y su esperanza están puestas en Dios. — 1 Pedro 1:21

My Faith by My Good Deeds

Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” — James 2:18

혹이 가로되 너는 믿음이 있고 나는 행함이 있으니 행함이 없는 네 믿음을 내게 보이라 나는 행함으로 내 믿음을 네게 보이리라 — 야고보서 2:18

Sin embargo, alguien dirá: «Tú tienes fe, y yo tengo obras.»

Pues bien, muéstrame tu fe sin las obras, y yo te mostraré la fe por mis obras. — Santiago 2:18

Accept Believers Who Are Weak in Faith

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. — Romans 14:1

믿음이 연약한 자를 너희가 받되 그의 의심하는 바를 비판하지 말라 — 로마서 14:1
