Your Faith Is far More Precious Than Mere Gold

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.  These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. — 1 Peter 1:6-7

Esto es para ustedes motivo de gran alegría, a pesar de que hasta ahora han tenido que sufrir diversas pruebas por un tiempo.  El oro, aunque perecedero, se acrisola al fuego. Así también la fe de ustedes, que vale mucho más que el oro, al ser acrisolada por las pruebas demostrará que es digna de aprobación, gloria y honor cuando Jesucristo se revele. — 1 Pedro 1:6-7

It Is through Faith That A Righteous Person Has Life

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” — Romans 1:17

복음에는 하나님의 의가 나타나서 믿음으로 믿음에 이르게 하나니 기록된 바 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 함과 같으니라 — 로마서 1:17

Faith Shows the Reality of What We Hope for

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.   Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. — Hebrews 11:1-2

믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보지 못하는 것들의 증거니
선진들이 이로써 증거를 얻었으니라 — 히브리서 11:1-2

Ahora bien, la fe es la garantía de lo que se espera, la certeza de lo que no se ve.   Gracias a ella fueron aprobados los antiguos. — Hebreos 11:1-2

Faith by Itself Isn’t Enough

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. — James 2:17

Así también la fe por sí sola, si no tiene obras, está muerta. — Santiago 2:17

Enoch Was Taken up to Heaven without Dying

It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.   And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. — Hebrews 11:5-6

Por la fe Enoc fue sacado de este mundo sin experimentar la muerte; no fue hallado porque Dios se lo llevó, pero antes de ser llevado recibió testimonio de haber agradado a Dios.   En realidad, sin fe es imposible agradar a Dios, ya que cualquiera que se acerca a Dios tiene que creer que él existe y que recompensa a quienes lo buscan. — Hebreos 11:5-6

He Rewards Those Who Sincerely Seek Him

It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.”  For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.   And it is impossible to please God without faith. The Faith of Abraham

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” — Romans 4:1-3

I Become Righteous through Faith in Christ

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ  and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. — Philippians 3:8-9

또한 모든 것을 해로 여김은 내 주 그리스도 예수를 아는 지식이 가장 고상함을 인함이라 내가 그를 위하여 모든 것을 잃어버리고 배설물로 여김은 그리스도를 얻고

Es más, todo lo considero pérdida por razón del incomparable valor de conocer a Cristo Jesús, mi Señor. Por él lo he perdido todo, y lo tengo por estiércol, a fin de ganar a Cristo  y encontrarme unido a él. No quiero mi propia justicia que procede de la ley, sino la que se obtiene mediante la fe en Cristo, la justicia que procede de Dios, basada en la fe. — Filipenses 3:8-9

Por la fe entendemos que el universo fue formado por la palabra de Dios, de modo que lo visible no provino de lo que se ve. — Hebreos 11:1-3

Faith Comes from Hearing

But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?”  So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.  — Romans 10:16-17

그러나 저희가 다 복음을 순종치 아니하였도다 이사야가 가로되 주여 우리의 전하는 바를 누가 믿었나이까 하였으니 그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 말미암았느니라 — 로마서 10:16-17

Sin embargo, no todos los israelitas aceptaron las buenas nuevas. Isaías dice: «Señor, ¿quién ha creído a nuestro mensaje?»  Así que la fe viene como resultado de oír el mensaje, y el mensaje que se oye es la palabra de Cristo. — Romanos 10:16-17
