The Fear of the Lord Is True Wisdom

And this is what he says to all humanity:
‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom;
    to forsake evil is real understanding.’” — Job 28:28

또 사람에게 이르시기를 주를 경외함이 곧 지혜요, 악을 떠남이 명철이라 ! 하셨느니라 — 욥기 28:28

Y dijo a los mortales:
    «Temer al Señor: ¡eso es sabiduría!
    Apartarse del mal: ¡eso es discernimiento!» — Job 28:28

Wisdom Will Multiply Your Days

Wisdom will multiply your days
    and add years to your life.
If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit.
    If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. — Proverbs 9:11-12

나 지혜로 말미암아 네 날이 많아질 것이요 네 생명의 해가 더하리라
네가 만일 지혜로우면 그 지혜가 네게 유익할 것이나 네가 만일 거만하면 너 홀로 해를 당하리라 — 잠언 9:11-12

Por mí aumentarán tus días;
    muchos años de vida te serán añadidos.
Si eres sabio, tu premio será tu sabiduría;

Don’t Turn Your Back on Wisdom

Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
    Love her, and she will guard you. — Proverbs 4:6

지혜를 버리지 말라 그가 너를 보호하리라 그를 사랑하라 그가 너를 지키리라 — 잠언 4:6

No abandones nunca a la sabiduría,
    y ella te protegerá;

Wisdom and Money

Wisdom and money can get you almost anything,
    but only wisdom can save your life. — Ecclesiastes 7:12

지혜도 보호하는 것이 되고 돈도 보호하는 것이 되나 지식이 더욱 아름다움은 지혜는 지혜 얻은 자의 생명을 보존함이니라 — 전도서 7:12

Puedes ponerte a la sombra de la sabiduría o a la sombra del dinero, pero la sabiduría tiene la ventaja de dar vida a quien la posee. — Eclesiastes 7:12

Job Speaks of Wisdom and Understanding

“But do people know where to find wisdom?
    Where can they find understanding?
No one knows where to find it,
    for it is not found among the living.
‘It is not here,’ says the ocean.
    ‘Nor is it here,’ says the sea.
It cannot be bought with gold.
    It cannot be purchased with silver.
It’s worth more than all the gold of Ophir,
    greater than precious onyx or lapis lazuli.
Wisdom is more valuable than gold and crystal.
    It cannot be purchased with jewels mounted in fine gold. — Job 28:12-17

그러나 지혜는 어디서 얻으며 명철의 곳은 어디인고
그 값을 사람이 알지 못하나니 사람 사는 땅에서 찾을 수 없구나
깊은 물이 이르기를 내 속에 있지 아니하다 하며 바다가 이르기를 나와 함께 있지 아니하다 하느니라
정금으로도 바꿀 수 없고 은을 달아도 그 값을 당치 못하리니
오빌의 금이나 귀한 수마노나 남보석으로도 그 값을 당치 못하겠고
황금이나 유리라도 비교할 수 없고 정금 장식으로도 바꿀 수 없으며 — 욥기 28:12-17

Pero ¿dónde se halla la sabiduría?
    ¿Dónde habita la inteligencia?
Nadie sabe lo que ella vale,
    pues no se encuentra en este mundo.
«Aquí no está», dice el océano;
    «Aquí tampoco», responde el mar.
No se compra con el oro más fino,
    ni su precio se calcula en plata.
No se compra con oro refinado,
    ni con ónice ni zafiros.
Ni el oro ni el cristal se comparan con ella,
    ni se cambia por áureas joyas. — Job 28:12-17

Do People Know Where to Find Wisdom

“But do people know where to find wisdom?
    Where can they find understanding?
It is hidden from the eyes of all humanity.
    Even the sharp-eyed birds in the sky cannot discover it.
Destruction and Death say,
    ‘We’ve heard only rumors of where wisdom can be found.’

 “God alone understands the way to wisdom;
    he knows where it can be found,
for he looks throughout the whole earth
    and sees everything under the heavens. — Job 28:20-24

그런즉 지혜는 어디서 오며 명철의 곳은 어디인고 
모든 생물의 눈에 숨겨졌고 공중의 새에게 가리워졌으며 
멸망과 사망도 이르기를 우리가 귀로 그 소문은 들었다 하느니라 
하나님이 그 길을 깨달으시며 있는 곳을 아시나니 
이는 그가 땅 끝까지 감찰하시며 온 천하를 두루 보시며  — 욥기 28:20-24

¿De dónde, pues, viene la sabiduría?
    ¿Dónde habita la inteligencia?
 Se esconde de los ojos de toda criatura;
    ¡hasta de las aves del cielo se oculta!
La destrucción y la muerte afirman:
    «Algo acerca de su fama llegó a nuestros oídos».
Solo Dios sabe llegar hasta ella;
    solo él sabe dónde habita.
Él puede ver los confines de la tierra;
    él ve todo lo que hay bajo los cielos. — Job 28:20-24

Wisdom Will Save You from Evil People

Wisdom will save you from evil people,
    from those whose words are twisted.
These men turn from the right way
    to walk down dark paths.
They take pleasure in doing wrong,
    and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.
Their actions are crooked,
    and their ways are wrong. — Proverbs 2:12-15

악한 자의 길과 패역을 말하는 자에게서 건져내리라 
이 무리는 정직한 길을 떠나 어두운 길로 행하며 
행악하기를 기뻐하며 악인의 패역을 즐거워하나니 
그 길은 구부러지고 그 행위는 패역하리라  — 잠언 2:12-15

La sabiduría te librará del camino de los malvados,
    de los que profieren palabras perversas,
¹³ de los que se apartan del camino recto
    para andar por sendas tenebrosas,
¹⁴ de los que se complacen en hacer lo malo
    y festejan la perversidad,
¹⁵ de los que andan por caminos torcidos
    y por sendas extraviadas; — Proverbios 2:12-15

The Lord Grants Wisdom!

For the Lord grants wisdom!
    From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
    He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
He guards the paths of the just
    and protects those who are faithful to him. — Proverbs 2:6-8

대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며 그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비하시며 행실이 온전한 자에게 방패가 되시나니 대저 그는 공평의 길을 보호하시며 그 성도들의 길을 보전하려 하심이니라 — 잠언 2:6-8

Porque el Señor da la sabiduría;
    conocimiento y ciencia brotan de sus labios.
Él reserva su ayuda para la gente íntegra
    y protege a los de conducta intachable.
Él cuida el sendero de los justos
    y protege el camino de sus fieles. — Proverbios 2:6-8

The Benefits of Wisdom

My child, listen to what I say,
and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,
and you will gain knowledge of God.
For the Lord grants wisdom!

Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.

내 아들아 네가 만일 나의 말을 받으며 나의 계명을 네게 간직하며
네 귀를 지혜에 기울이며 네 마음을 명철에 두며
지식을 불러 구하며 명철을 얻으려고 소리를 높이며
은을 구하는 것 같이 그것을 구하며 감추인 보배를 찾는 것 같이 그것을 찾으면
여호와 경외하기를 깨달으며 하나님을 알게 되리니
대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며
그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비하시며 행실이 온전한 자에게 방패가 되시나니

Hijo mío, si haces tuyas mis palabras
y atesoras mis mandamientos;
si tu oído inclinas hacia la sabiduría
y de corazón te entregas a la inteligencia;
si llamas a la inteligencia
y pides discernimiento;
si la buscas como a la plata,
como a un tesoro escondido,
entonces comprenderás el temor del Señor
y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.
Porque el Señor da la sabiduría;
conocimiento y ciencia brotan de sus labios.
Él reserva su ayuda para la gente íntegra
y protege a los de conducta intachable.
Él cuida el sendero de los justos
y protege el camino de sus fieles.
Entonces comprenderás la justicia y el derecho,
la equidad y todo buen camino;
la sabiduría vendrá a tu corazón,
y el conocimiento te endulzará la vida.
La discreción te cuidará,
la inteligencia te protegerá. — Proverbios 2:1-11
